Absolutely! Yes, yes it can. Your website can work for you in more ways than you imagined. Let’s get into a few ways.

Automation: Free your time, and the rest will follow

When you’re running a business on your own or with a small team, automation is key to saving time and money. Automation can relieve you of doing repetitive and tedious actions manually. This is true if you’re a business selling products or services. A website set up for e-commerce makes it easy for customers to shop, place orders, and leave you to complete fulfillment. Packaging, printing shipping labels, and any enclosures like thank you notes. If you’re a service-based business you can automate scheduling right on your website. Simply provide the client information about your services and a button that takes them to your booking service provider (I use Calendly.) Automation tools also allow you to update all of your customers about sales, promotions, closures, and more via email. The beauty in these tools is that an automatic database is collected on pertinent customer information that allows you to reach out to them again and again (but not spam them) There are mega suites (I just made that up) that allow you to connect various applications and create expansive workflows for customer-facing and backend transactions (i.e bookkeeping, invoicing.)

Information: Google me baby

Without a website where are your current and future customer getting their information about you? If they’re getting it from you most likely you’re answering the same questions over and over. If you’re using social media, that’s great, it’s a wonderful way to connect with customers in a human way. The failure with relying on yourself or social media to provide information about your business is that it, becomes tedious, you’re wasting time answering the same five questions that could be answered once on your site. With social media, there are so many moving parts, but your website serves as an anchor for information. Your website provided stability and security for your customers and gives them all the information they need in one place to make an informed decision to work with you or buy from you.

Recognition: Whoooo are you?

Your website is yours, your social media account isn’t. With that said, having a website allows you to show the personality of YOUR brand, not your brand trying to fit in with your preferred social media account. Branding is one primary component of a recognizable business and your website serves as your very own billboard for showcasing what you do and who you do it for. With a clean easy-to-use website that speaks to your customer base, you’re bound to gain notoriety (in a good way) since an enjoyable experience with a clear consistent brand is paramount to building return customers and referrals. Recognition is defined as “identification of someone or something or person from previous encounters or knowledge.” Being top of mind for your customers means standing out and showing who you are without any other competition or distraction.

Now What?

So there you have it a website really can make your life easier and hopefully you’ll have a few songs stuck in your head as well. If you’re interested in learning more about carving out your own space in the cyber world with a dedicated website that’s not only set up to optimize your time and resources but is also recognizable then let’s talk.
